D. K. Sachdev has more than 40 years experience in the satellite and telecommunication organizations and industries in the United States and India. He is the president of SpaceTel Consultancy LLC, Vienna, Virginia, which provides management and engineer support for telecommunications, and broadcast companies. He is also an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where he teaches graduate classes on systems engineering for telecommunications and on project management. In 2003 he received the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation's Innovation award for his creative and innovative prowess in the field of satellite communications for many years and culminating in the engineering implementation of the world's first operating direct broadcast radio satellite system. A Senior Member of the IEEE, he is a graduate of Allahabad University and holds a post-graduate diploma in electrical communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India
